What is the maximum panel length for the PEANUT® Mini Jig?

There is no maximum length. You will just need to reposition the Mini Jig on large panels.

How do I rout a mid panel slot?

In order to rout a mid panel slot, first draw lines on where you would like to position your slot. Then, use your Mini Jig and with the centre lines, align it and then screw the jig to the panel. Next, begin the routing. For more information, watch our PEANUT Mini Jig Updated Overview video where we go over mid panel slots here: https://youtu.be/0vhOSbCjpi8?t=440

Why is my joint loose?

1) The PEANUT® component is not tight enough.
2) The sub base is warped also leading to the router base not sitting flat.
3) Dust or something else is causing the router base to not sit flat on the jig.
4) The cutter has slipped in the router.
5) The depth stop on the router has slipped.

Tooling Requirements

The PEANUT Mini Jig’s compact size and ease of use makes it perfect for projects of all sizes. Making joints with the PEANUT Mini Jig can be learnt in minutes.

The PEANUT Jig is compatible with the PEANUT 2 and PEANUT 2 Short connectors, as well as having the ability to create loose tenon and dowels joints (size up to 10mm). By repositioning the jig, PEANUT joints can be created on any size panel. Depending on the application, we recommend that the PEANUT slots are positioned approximately 200mm apart.

Horizontal and vertical centre lines enable the jig to be used without the fence anywhere on a panel by aligning the centre lines with reference lines on the panel.

Countersunk screw holes along the horizontal centre line can be used to secure the jig when clamping is not possible, the screw holes will then be covered by the corresponding panel.

The Mini Jig features holes for gravity stopping studs for easy and quick positioning for edge joints. Notches in the jig body are a reference for central joints.

The shape of the jig body is ergonomically designed for easy gripping and also features a depth gauge to accurately set the PEANUT cutter in the router.

The jig includes a 6mm drill bush and 6mm drill with stop which is used to drill a 6mm hole for the PEANUT 2 or for 6mm dowels. Additional 5mm, 8mm and 10mm drill kits are available.

A standard 30mm router guide bush can be used with the Mini Jig (Note, a router guide bush is not included in the set). The guide bush projection should be no larger than 9mm to allow the router to sit flat on the jig body.
